Laser Vision Correction

The most common procedure currently being performed is a procedure called LASIX. It is popular because it allows the eye to heal quickly and there is very little pain afterwards.

Vision Conditions

It alters the shape or contour of your eye to correct for nearsightedness, astigmatism, and certain powers of farsightedness. It currently does not correct for presbyopia (commonly referred to as the bifocal stage). Sometimes these patients can tolerate monovision. This is where one eye is fully corrected for distance but the fellow eye is left slightly nearsighted to help with reading. If the patient is presbyopic and can’t tolerate monovision they will require reading glasses. A lot of research is directed toward this problem so this could change in the near future.

If you are interested in this procedure please let my staff know and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
I am credentialed by the leading laser centers in Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati and Columbus to perform your pre-op and post-op management.

My job is tracking the outcomes of the different centers within a 200 mile radius of Greenup County. I do this to make certain you will have a positive experience. Experience does matter and the quality of the staff and equipment has a major impact on your outcome. You only have one set of eyes that has to last you a lifetime. Caution should be given to the so called “discount surgery centers”. Not everyone is a candidate. I only refer to the centers that will say no if you are not an appropriate candidate. This is based on your pupil size and corneal thickness. Those who have had the procedure and were not appropriate candidates suffer from a lifetime of annoying glare and halos.

I am very proud to be a TLC affiliate. TLC is a corporation that is the largest provider of refractive surgery in the country. They specialize in refractive surgery and the offer a life time enhancement policy. Other privately held centers offer the same warranty but once the owner retires your warranty is void. TLC has centers all across the United States in case you move to a different part of the country. They have performed LASIX on Tiger Woods and numerous other celebrities. More information about TLC can be found at their website, http://www.tlcvision.com/.
